We are a thirty-something thirty- and forty-something couple originally from Eastern Europe, currently living in Seattle and dreaming of moving to living in the Methow Valley in North Central Washington after many years spent in Seattle and other, bigger, cities. We first visited the Methow in 2010 and fell in love with it at first sight! This blog chronicles our journey to learn more about the place that we hope someday to now call home, figure out how to buy or build a house, and transition from an urban lifestyle – all we’ve ever known – to a rural life tied to the land and the seasons.

I am currently blogging anonymously and hope to change this eventually. For now, I will use the first letters of our nicknames for each other to refer to ourselves on this blog. The author of this blog is “S” and my husband is “P”.
